KOOCHICHING COUNTY’S TRUTH IN TAXATION HEARING
CONDUCTED BY THE COUNTY BOARD
ON TUESDAY, DECEMBER 11, 2001; 4:00 P.M.
COURTHOUSE BOARDROOM

MEMBERS PRESENT: Commissioners Chezick, McBride, Hanson, Lepper

MEMBERS ABSENT: Commissioner Pavleck

OTHERS ATTENDING: Matt Gouin

The Board Chair opened the hearing at 400 p.m. One member of the public was present for the hearing. No written comment was submitted. The Board Chair opened the hearing to public comment. Matt Gouin stated that more dollars need to be invested in economic development to create good paying jobs as our population is declining and aging. More needs to be done to revitalize the community and its economy to keep and bring people here. Community leaders need to do more to get companies to come here. The Board agreed and stated they would invest dollars if they felt the project was viable and resulted in new jobs and growth. With no other comments, the Board Chair closed the public comment and announced that the proposed 2002 County levy and budget would be adopted by the County Board on December 18, 2001. The hearing was closed at 4:25 p.m.
