The Administration Director, Management Committee, Emergency Response Team and Department Directors met to discuss appropriate prevention and protection measures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was decided that all County buildings and facilities will be closed to the public effective March 17, 2020 until further notice with the exception of the transfer station which will remain open to the public during adjusted business hours for solid waste disposal. The Koochiching County Transfer Station is adjusting the hours they are open to the public to Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to Noon effective on Monday, March 23rd. Canister sites schedules will remain unchanged at this time and encourages the public to deliver full loads of waste to reduce the amount of contact between operators and the public. All Court Administration Offices in the Ninth District are closed to the public pursuant to the Minnesota State Court Administrators Office. Designated Court Administration staff will remain in the office for purposes of answering the phone and processing court filings submitted electronically or via mail or email. County Probation is requesting clients to report by phone by calling 218-283-1113 on their assigned reporting day and further instruction will be given at that time.
