Novel Coronavirus

What is it? 

The virus known as 2019-nCoV or Covid-19 is a new “novel” respiratory virus. It was first identified in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. The virus is considered “novel” it is a virus that has not been previously identified among humans. This virus has spread to several countries including the United States.

How to protect myself against a virus?

Tips to follow to protect yourself from viruses:

  • Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
  • If soap and water are not available use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer (at least 60% alcohol)
  • Avoid touching your mouth, nose, and eyes
  • Avoid close contact with sick individuals
  • Stay home when you are sick
